This is the best [Reinhardt] build to go for. This build is very good at stopping the enemy from gaining large amounts of cash.
Edit: Against certain builds you can delay the pivot for an additional round. Keep [Gloomgauntlet] and [Aftermarket Firing Pin]. With the rest of your money buy as many of the rare items mentioned in the previous round as well as [Heartbeat Sensor]. This build works well if you are against a Rein or if your team is not coordinated. An added benefit to this is that the enemy will pick their 3rd power before they know that you are pivoting to a shield build. Updated 4 July 2025

Always start with [To Me, My Friends!] [Heartbeat Sensor] , [Weapon Grease] ,and [Compensator]
If the enemy is [Reinhardt] and takes [Smashing!] this is ideal, and you should win most match ups. you might be thinking "how do win if he has extra 10% move speed and 30% weapon lifesteal?"Just like [Ogundimu Reduction Field] the stats only last for 2 seconds. Just swing on [Reinhardt] 2 times then back away. It's just that easy. Since you can no longer have [Wilhelmwagen] round 1 this matchup is not as simple as it was before but it is still good for you if you play it right. Just don't swing on [Reinhardt] too much.
Tip: before this round starts you can let your team know that you are going shield build to incentivize them to go for a WP build.
Important note: you have to reach at least 10k after round 1 so you can afford [Gloomgauntlet].

This build helped me finish my tank wins last season. It was easy and fun! I was just making a preset of this for myself, but it now says to take Wilhelmwagen (epic item) in round 1?
