Build Notes

EDIT: Okay this website bugged out and my item lists are all broken now. Gonna fix it later but this is really annoying.

Decided to try attack speed Sigma and ended up making a build that has outperformed my expectations. Won most games and just had a crazy game where I ended up with the strongest variant of this build ending with over 75000 in round 7 and became the highest earning player by a large margin. Will update build as I climb further and find more optimal variants and I'm putting this here so I can come back later and refer to it if I need to.

This build, as the name suggests, is focused on empowering Sigma's primary fire and nullifying its weaknesses while harnessing its strengths to the fullest.

Sigma's primary fire pros and cons:

Pros:

Does a lot of damage per burst (110)

Decent range(for a tank)

Has splash damage and bounces on walls(can catch enemies around corners or in rooms)

String not affected by melee animation(can constantly shoot - melee - shoot)

Doesn't have to reload(IMPORTANT)

Cons:

He's still a tank(range not long enough to catch enemies from afar)

Fires in slow bursts(difficult to use for consistent damage and confirming kills)

Attack speed solves the second con because with enough attack speed you can sling a constant barrage of projectiles while not having to worry about reloading. The first con is already solved in round 2 by buying [Velocity Vector]. After that, it's just building up attack speed while investing into a bit of weapon power on the side. Combine with [Hyperloop] to turn your accretion into a secondary fire.

The qualities of Sigma's primary attack along with the high rate of fire makes it extremely deadly at all ranges and excellent for both pressuring any frontline presence, sightlines, harassing fliers, and overall confirming kills, although it struggles against tankier and brawlier enemies such as Mei. Adapt accordingly for survivability if needed. I've put [Beam Splitter] as an optional item on most rounds to let you know to take it if going against beam-heavy enemies such as Zarya and weapon power Mei.

Round Notes

You want to get [Trinisphere] on round 1 because

  1. It acts like a near 25% damage increase to your primary fire
  2. It starts scaling as early as round 2 thanks to [Velocity Vector] and it only gets much stronger

The greens are the usual weapon power greens, although [Frenzy Amplifier] could also be good.
