Honestly I saw that all the biggest-viewed cassidy loadouts are kinda buns so I made my own.

New Season Update: Junkrat, Zen, Sigma
Unfortunately with the new season came Cassidy nerfs, [Just Roll With It] nerf made Cassidy's survivability drop significantly, you WILL need to play behind your tank, barriers, etc. Fan the Hammer nerfs + making key upgrades more expensive is kinda saddening aswell, I find more fun playing other DPS than Cassidy atm.
DISCLAIMER: WHATS IN THE MAIN SPOTS IS FOR IF YOU AVERAGE 6-7k CREDITS PER GAME. MOST PEOPLE WILL PROBABLY GET MORE, SO GET BETTER STUFF IF YOU DO.
Currently in Pro Rank and this build helps me win around 70-80% of my matches. My accuracy rate is 20%-40% so I'm not even that good myself.
Ok so basically Cassidy is an all around great dps, he can 1v1 other dps with little to no issues (unless the other persons like alot better), he absolutely melts tanks, and he can pick off supports. His only real downside in Stadium is his survivability, as sometimes with the upgrades characters just do too much damage for him to handle.
As Cassidy you want to play by your tank, stick close to them and help them win the fight against the other tank with fan the hammer. Your main goal is to drop the enemy tank & maybe pick off some of the dps and supports behind them while their tank is preoccupied with you and your teams tank. Don't go too close to the enemy tank or they can js kill you, but don't go far so that you are still effective with fan the hammer. The power [Just Roll With It] is really good with getting out of situations where you are too close to the enemy tank and need to get back.
This guide is for average players who like me i'm assuming do not hit their shots 100% of the time and have an accuracy of around 30-40%. If you are good with shots then this should still work fine, but you may want to prioritize damage output more with perks like [Dead Man Walking] instead.
You can tweak this to have either more survivability or more attack damage. I usually go for more attack damage though.
Basically the idea of this is to have good survivability, but also high damage output. The reason for the survivability is because cassidy does much much better at close-medium range as his damage falloff is kinda insane and to be close & flank we need to be able to survive.

So for the first round we are buying [First Aid Kit] or [Armored Vest] which seem kinda lackluster but are really good for surviving encounters with other DPS among other things. You also want to buy [Compensator] and [Weapon Grease] to get extra damage which means more cash.
[Plasma Converter] doesn't really provide enough healing, however it can be bought later into the game to stack onto better lifesteal items like [Competitive Analysis]
If you want you can get [Ammo Reserves] however idk if the 1 extra bullet really helps more than the extra health.
For the perk you want [Just Roll With It] it improves your survivability and gives you a much better chance against other dps. This is kinda non-negotiable as it greatly improves your odds of winning DPS 1v1s and helps you last longer against tanks.

You weren't joking on the "read first". Man tried to follow along mid match. litterally every item in the shop is recomended by round 4 based on 100 different potential games you might be having.

Great build, thx so much for this - just won a game using it! I felt like I needed a bit more survivability, so ended up getting cushioned padding in later rounds along with armored vest - seemed to work well to stay alive - but I like that you mention help take the other tank out - that was clutch!
Generally Cushioned padding is pretty situational, unless youre getting wrecked by an Ana or smthn Vital E Tee tends to be the better pick. It basically will increase your total effective hp by 1/3rd while Cushioned padding only gives 25 shields
